I don't know about other difficulty levels where it's harder to find nanites, but on Easy, you can find nanites on almost anyone you find or kill. Med beds don't work until you use a surgical bed activation key on them. Unless you have a really good memory of where you've been and how to get there or drop teleport markers every four steps as "bread crumbs" to try and find your out of, for example, both the fluidics tunnels and the cargo bays in Engineering, the mini-map is the way to go.ģ. I remember dying several times trying to whack the laser turret in ICU on Med/Sci because I had shot all the security cameras and protocol droids with AP bullets, and I had wasted the rest of my standard bullets on that turret. so they don't get too annoyed with the game the first time through.Įxactly. you might want to warn them against wasting valuable modules to get the fusion cannon, etc. like Thief, the Shock 2 enemies can see and hear, and although you don't have Garrett's super-human ability to melt into the shadows, stealthiness can be your friend. The quick-save slot can be modified (with the patched game) in order to avoid this, IIRC. Moving between bulkheads overwrites your last quicksave. More specifically, activation keys are very hard to come by - don't waste one if there might be a working bed undiscovered elsewhere in the level, or otherwise close by. Oh, that's the other important thing with ammo - where practical, try to use the right ammo for the opponent at hand, if you want to conserve the stuff. I usually wrenched pipe hybrids because they were safe enough, but I found enough ammo to take on everything else (using a variety of weapons.) I think it's more a case of being careful with your aim and not using more ammo than you need to take something down, than wrenching everything. Health is cheap and plentiful, ammo is not. If it's at all possible to kill something with> the wrench, do it. Can anyone think of any other "D'oh! I wish I'd known that!" stuff from their early Shock days? Any interface behaviors that seem obvious now, but didn't at the time? If your character seems a lot slower and shorter than he should be, you're in crouch mode.
